  • Next Year, start preparing in the Summer & Fall
    • Don’t wait until there is ice and snow everywhere
  • Drain water pipes
    • If you have a home that you are not living in, drain the water pipes of water, blow them out with air when possible
    • Heat tape wrapped around exposed plumbing can be very helpful
    • Don’t forget to cover and drain outside spigots
  • Develop a Backup Plan
    • Do you have a backup heat source?
      • When the electric is off for an extended amount of time, pipes can freeze
      • Do you have a generator or backup heat source?
        • BE SAFE!

          • Drafts around windows and door can allow heat to escape quickly
